Balkan Snapshots coming soon!!

September 2012

We're currently developing the programme for everyone's favourite Southeast-European culture festival. Brace yourselves, because we're planning it  B-I-G!

This year we celebrate the birth of a new federation - it does not represent states, but a conglomeration of artistic states of mind. Unlike the EU entity in the West, featuring economies with clearly defined borders, and even clearer objectives and rules for inclusion and exclusion, we are presenting a different type of alliance in the Southeast: a federation of utopic thoughts and creative fantasies, reimagining borders, national identities and future possibilities... An experimental coalition of art worlds and inventive minds: the Artist in charge.

Balkan Snapshots 2012 will be a creative hub engaging artists, experts, thinkers, participants and the public in finding endless variations & perspectives to look at SE Europe. The central theme will be the collaborative quest of Southeast European creatives to find and show as many meanings, definitions, functions and stories that the region can represent, mean and tell to its inhabitants and to the rest of the world.
